It’s hard to believe we’re already more than halfway through August. And as we approach September, I’m filled with thoughts of leaves changing, temperatures dropping, and the reintroduction of the ever-controversial pumpkin spice latte. Is it too early to put my decorative pumpkins out??
Another subject we’ve been mulling over is how to update our wardrobe during those awkward days between Summer and Fall that are not quite hot and not quite cold. One day we’re leaving the house in just a Mila Maxi tank dress, and the next day we may feel like we need extra layers to stave off a slight chill in the air. So, how do we make the most of all the breezy Summer styles we invested in earlier this year? What's the best way to update those styles to make them Fall friendly?
We've got a few tips on how to transition your Summer wardrobe for Fall.
It’s all about the layers. Maybe it’s layering a dress with tights, throwing a sweater on over a slip dress, or layering your Summer blouse with a cardigan. Now is the time to invest in cozy knits.
Add accessories. Scarves and bags can make a big impact. Signal Fall with texture, patterns and prints, and color.
Nothing says Back to School and Fall quite like denim. An essential denim blue style layered over a t-shirt or long sleeve tee makes a chic Fall statement.
Invest in essentials that are season-less. A classic v-neck tee or ribbed tank top is perfect worn on its own during hotter days and nights, but these basics are just as essential worn under heavy knits during colder months.
