Our Favorite Double Duty Dresses for Fall

Sometimes, a dress is more than just a dress. In fact, we love a dress that is versatile enough to wear year round. Here are some of our favorite ways to style your bohemian dresses for Fall.

The return of dresses over pants

While even the mere mention of layering a dress over a bootcut jean can send one into early-aughts anxiety, this new version of layering is less chaotic and more thoughtful. Try unbuttoning the bottom half of a button front maxi dress, keeping the top buttoned up, and layering over denim or trousers.

Our favorite dresses for layering over pants have a functional button up front so you can control how much or how little you unbutton. Interesting details like lace or a tiered skirt add dimension.

Better yet, lose the removable slip and try a sheer dress over jeans.

These sheer dresses have a functional button up front and are designed in unique and ethereal prints, which play off the dreamy sheer fabric.

Layer up for Fall

There's no need to pack away your dresses when the weather turns chilly. Grab a chunky knit sweater or cardigan, add an interesting belt, toss on some cool boots, and voila! You're ready to brave the cold.

Some of our favorite new dresses for Fall have dramatic elements like lurex gold thread or lattice trim skirts. Adding a classic chunky knit sweater warms up these romantic styles.

Our Catch The Light Maxi Dress is a classic bohemian style. The side slits provide the perfect peek-a-boo moment for a brown Fall boot. Try it layered under our Nico Cardigan.

There's a reason our office is obsessed with the Provence Maxi Dress; the oversize floral print is the Autumn print we've all been craving, and the empire waist is so flattering. To transition this style to cooler weather, add a cable knit sweater, western style boots, and a suede belt. The Kelly Cable Knit Sweater is a cool alternative to the classic chunky knit. The cropped length makes it a perfect style to layer over a dress.

Back to basics

A classic slip dress is a must-have for every woman's wardrobe; it can be dressed up or down, layered for cooler weather or worn on its own for balmy days and nights. For Fall, we're layering our favorite slip dresses under sweaters with boots, or styling a simple dress over a tee or turtleneck.

Our top-selling slip dress is back in four colorways. The lace trim and delicate spaghetti straps add a pretty touch, while the back waist tie can be made loose or tight, depending on your mood. The front and side slits will show off your Fall booties.
